Oktoberfest History: Around the world Oktoberfest is celebrated for 16 days in late September to the beginning of October. The festival that is held in Munich, Germany is the country's biggest fair. The first Oktoberfest was celebrated in 1810 to commemorate Bavarian Crown Prince Ludwig's marriage to Princess Therese von Sachsen-Hildburghausen. The original celebration was non-alcoholic but now Oktoberfest is synonymous with German beer and about 2 million gallons are served every year. So fill your stein and say "Prost!"
A great way to decorate for your Octoberfest party is to use traditional Blue and White Tissue Balls and Oktoberfest Danglers. The two decorations look great as a combination, or alongside the PartyCheap Decorating Kit. Our Jointed Mr. Oktoberfritz or German Flag Cutouts will set a festive party mood.
