Super Bowl Week Events - Santa Clara Area (Jan 31-Feb 7)


With Super Bowl 50 fast approaching, it is time to think about the types of events that will be available in the area where the Big Game will take place. Since the game is in Leviís Stadium, outside of Santa Clara, California, this year, you can plan ahead and think about having some serious fun before the game.     The Super Bowl City presented by Verizon will first open January 30th in downtown San Francisco. This event will be mainly centered in the Justin Herman Plaza. Super Bowl City will have many events including the NFL Experience (see below) located near by. Fans and local residents can go join the party and the countdown to the biggest sporting event of the year. This will be the main hub of everything during Super Bowl week, CBS will even be broadcasting all its Super Bowl coverage from the city.   • NFL Experience Driven by Hyundai

    The NFL Experience is a week long event that will take place at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, CA starting on January 31st. This event will give fans the opportunity to experience and learn NFL history, and also creates the high intensity atmosphere of the Super Bowl. The event will include many different exhibits that give everyone something to do. There are games which allow fans the opportunity to try and pass like their favorite quarterback or feel the pressure of kicking a game winning field goal. February 1

  • Super Bowl Opening Night Fueled by Gatorade

    This event will officially kick off Super Bowl week. The event will consist of fans, media and players from both teams that have made it to the big game. Fans will get to go and watch from the stands as players get interviewed by hundreds of members of the media. The event begins at 5pm at the SAP Center in San Jose, CA. Fans will be given gift bags that will contain radios so fans can listen to their favorite players being interviewed during the event. In addition to the on field interviews that fans will get to see, there will also be musical performances and have appearances made by a variety of players and cheerleaders. February 3

  • San Francisco Symphony and NFL Films: A Concert of Champions

    This event will take place at 8 PM in San Francisco. The San Francisco Symphony and the NFL teamed up to create this performance in which the symphony will provided musical accompaniment Super Bowl 50 Plastic Cupsto some short NFL documentaries created by NFL Films. Along with this the San Francisco Symphony will also play some of its own works at the event. If you want there will also be a pre concert dinner that you can also attend before heading into the concert hall for the concert. February 4

February 6

    On the eve of the Super Bowl, a final community event will take place throughout the day in Santa Clara. This event will have multiple events that fans can take place in. It is encouraged that fans from all teams attend the event and enjoy a concert featuring Huey Lewis and The News, a pep rally, flag football game, youth Play 60 zone, and more! At the end of the evening, at 8 PM, there will be a final firework show. This event is free to attend but you must register ahead of time to get your free tickets because parking spots are limited.

    The Rolling Stoneís annual Super Bowl party will be held in San Francisco this year. This is one of the biggest parties during Super Bowl week in the city.     The Taste of the NFL charity event is an annual event that raises money for national and local food banks of the 32 NFL cities. The avent will start at 6 P.M. on February 6 and will feature a great evening of food and football. The event will bring together top chefs from the 32 cities of every NFL team.
