Make this cute Paper Lantern Owl for your child's birthday party! Start with a White Paper Lantern
, and lightly trace an owl silhouette on the face of the lantern. Make a round face out of brown construction paper, and add two pointy ears at the top. Take a light colored piece of felt, and cut out two oblong eyes. Cut two small, round, black circles out of construction paper. Using hot glue, add the black pupils to the eyes, and glue the eyes to the face. Take a piece of gold construction paper, and cut out a small diamond for the beak. Glue this in the center of the face, slightly below the eyes. When the face has been assembled, glue it to the top of the lantern. Cut out two wings made from scrap booking paper to add some texture to your creation. Carefully glue these wings below the face (the scrap booking paper is much heavier than construction paper, so this will be more difficult!). Find the gold construction paper, cut out two small feet, then glue them to the bottom of the lantern. To add a finishing touch, create the illusion of feathers by drawing a ruffled design in the chest with a black maker. Enjoy your new decoration!
